Originally from Ventura County, Jerald Bolden sat on the sidelines watching his younger sister take dance classes, while he took piano lessons. Wanting to be apart of the magic on stage, he got involved in musical theater in Santa Monica. Quickly picking up steps and technique, he progressed to choreographing musicals in high school and college. In 2005, he received his B.A. from California State University, Sacramento in Organizational Communications. Winding up with school, he met Claire Weissman-Hurni, a local playwright and puppeteer, and teamed up as Artistic Director for her company, Puppets and Motion. After working on several touring dance and puppet productions, he decided to go back to school and is currently pursuing his masters in Musical Theater at CSUS. Jerald has trained in jazz and musical theater style dance at the Broadway Academy for three years. He has also been a company member and re-occurring guest artist for Dance Theatre West.
Most recently, Jerald has been directing various projects at CSUS and choreographing main stage productions at Sacramento Theatre Company. Jerald is ecstatic for the opportunity to apart of Dangerous Lorraines Dance Theatre, and would like to thank Pib, Simba, and Claire for their love and support.
